This is a small regional airport on King Island of the west coast of Tasmania, an island state of commonwealth of Australia. The airport has three runways and a small apron capable of accommodating small aircraft. The airport is ideal for servicing private jets, which are welcome to land at the airport for a fee. Annual licences are available for local airport users. This is the only airport on King Island and three scheduled airlines operate services to and from the airport. King Island Airport is situated approximately eight km north of the town of Currie, the largest town on King Island with a population of just under 750 people.
