This small airport was originally opened to serve the area between Haneda and Nagoya's main airports. Known locally as simply Shizuoka Airport, it sits between Hamamatsu and Shizuoka beside the expressway. It mainly deals with domestic traffic, but does also allow international flights from other nearby countries. The terminal holds a number of facilities including shops and eateries.
