Kazan International Airport

Kazan International Airport is an international airport in Tartarstan, Russia. It is located approximately 25km southeast of Kazan, the largest city in the Republic of Tartarstan. The city of Kazan is one of the host cities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, and the Kazan Arena is located 33km from the airport. The airport opened in 1979, replacing the old Kazan airport located inside the city. The airport was named Russia’s best airport in 2014 and received a Skytrax Airport and Airline Award. The airport is well connected to the local areas. The airport is connected by rail, linking the city and airport. Shuttle bus services also run to and from the airport. Kazan International Airport has two terminals. The main terminal is divided into terminal 1 and 1A, and is comprised of three floor. The main terminal serves both domestic and international passengers, and there are a range of retail and dining options. The second terminal, Terminal 2, is for VIP passengers. There is a dedicated check in, departure gates and lounge within the VIP terminal.

Kazan International Airport has one runway measuring a total of 3,724 meters in length. It’s capable of handling a variety of aircrafts, including wide-bodies, with the exception of the Airbus A380. It is important to note that slots are controlled at this airport and English is not spoken.
