How Much Does a Custom Private Jet Interior Cost?

When designing your personal private jet interior, the sky's the limit. Of course, this level of customisation comes at a price. Here's how much a bespoke interior truly costs.

Aviation Interior Specialist: Foglizzo

Our intel comes courtesy of foglizzo.com, one of the most respected suppliers for aviation interiors in the world. The company specializes in a product jetsetters know intimately: Italian leather. Since Foglizzo first opened its doors in 1921, the company has built a reputation for designing and developing some of the highest quality custom leathers in the world. Now, Foglizzo is leveraging their expertise to set new standards in the aviation interiors industry. The company is behind some some of the most luxurious – and expensive – personalized interiors in all of aviation.

Made with only the finest European hides, the leathers can be used for upholstery, cabin lining, ceiling panels, furniture, headboards and the interior of the cockpit. Foglizzo’s designs maintain the elegant look and feel of fine leather while meeting all industry performance tests. As such, the leathers are lightweight, flame resistant and highly durable through stretching and wear.

So, how much does a fully bespoke private jet interior cost? For luxury interiors of this caliber, the leathers alone can range in price from roughly $150,000 to $300,000 per square meter. So if you’re customizing the interior of an Airbus A319 CJ, for example – which has a cabin size of 80 square meters – the project could cost a cool $24 million before additional costs are factored in. By its completion, the final product could cost as much as $100 million. But as you’ll soon see, the result may be well worth the price. Private jets don’t get much more beautiful than this.

One of the most impressive interiors in the Foglizzo portfolio is this sleek Airbus ACJ319 designed by Sylvain Mariat, the Head of Creative Design Studio at Airbus Corporate Jets. The interior, crafted for an undisclosed Asian company, is a sophisticated, modern interpretation of the vintage train car. The aircraft is outfitted with five separate suites that feel like cozy train cabins. The elegant brown and cream color palette is accented with gold details for a retro flare. Behind the vintage exterior lies all the trimmings of a high-tech cabin: two separate cocktail bars hide behind mirrors that open with the touch of a button.
